Sabah Chicken Rice

Sometimes I tend to withheld myself from writing up about a place that I have actually been to for awhile, due to certain reasons (it’s usually because that particular place annoys me in some way so I quickly lost interest in putting up a review about them). One such example is this joint; found within the Fajar Complex area (sandwiched between the Secret Recipe and Kurtos Spiroll eateries, right below Kingston Hotel). Now don’t get me wrong though, I didn’t say that this place is terrible or anything. It’s just that whenever I think back at their service, my mood instantly became sour. I have been to the place quite a few times and all I can say is that their service has always been a pain in my rear end. I won’t go into too much details but suffice to say that I’ve stopped myself from going there for a solid 4 years or so. That is of course, until recently when me and my partner had no other choice since it is one of the only places that had opened during a public holiday. And I’m actually glad to report that the service has somewhat improved. Granted, there might still be a bit of ‘feet-dragging’ action going on but they’re way better than before, trust me on that.

When me and my partner dropped by during said holiday, we’d ordered their Satay Chicken Rice (a bit lacking in terms of seasonings but I like that they’d paired the dish with actual chicken rice instead of regular rice) and their namesake Chicken Rice (my partner says that it’s a bit oily and just blah in terms of taste).

** Current status – Still in operation (as of October 2017)
